Introduction:
At Elegantize Weddings, we pride ourselves on creating unforgettable wedding experiences, and the recent wedding of Puja and Kushal was no exception. Taking place at the Hartford Marriott Downtown, located at 200 Columbus Blvd, Hartford, CT 06103, this lavish wedding spanned three days from May 31st to June 2nd and featured six unique events, each meticulously designed and executed by our team.
Event Overview:
The wedding of Puja and Kushal was an extraordinary celebration filled with vibrant colors, lush decorations, and grand structures. The events included Mehndi, Pithi for both the bride and groom, Sangeet, the wedding ceremony, and the reception, each with its own distinct theme and decor.
1. Mehndi: Seashell Inspired Theme
The first event, the Mehndi, featured a seashell-inspired theme. We fabricated a custom wavy seashell-inspired backdrop using copper pipes and organza fabric. The centerpieces included mini seashells inside vases with fresh floral bouquets, creating a beautiful and unique setup.
2. Groom’s Pithi: Marigold Magic
For the groom’s Pithi, we designed an 8 ft yellow marigold ring placed on an 8’ x 8’ artificial greenery backdrop. This vibrant and traditional setup added a touch of elegance and cultural significance to the event.
3. Bride’s Pithi: Archway Elegance
The bride’s Pithi featured multiple custom-sized yellow arches adorned with various decor elements, such as artificial greenery, custom vinyl prints, and lattice fences covered in artificial white flowers. This created a visually stunning and intimate atmosphere.
4. Sangeet: Festive Extravaganza
The Sangeet was a festive event with bright colors and a one-of-a-kind stage. We created a 16 ft artificial greenery backdrop with a custom-made gold fence in front. The fence was adorned with fresh floral arrangements and a large peacock with a fresh floral tail made of hydrangeas, roses, and dendrobium orchids.
5. Ceremony: Modern Lavishness
The wedding ceremony had a modern and lavish theme. We used a metallic gold structure as the mandap, hanging decorative baskets from the top and adorning it with fresh floral arrangements and pampas grass. This created a grand and luxurious focal point for the ceremony.
6. Reception: Elegant Class
The reception was elegant and classy, featuring various-sized structures wrapped in lavish-style wallpaper and trimmed with fresh flower garlands. Two frames with crystal curtains descending from the center added a touch of sophistication and glamour.
Planning and Execution:
Client’s Vision:
Puja and Kushal’s initial decor ideas were centered around a lavish and lush theme. They wanted vibrant colors and over-the-top decorations, with a grand 10’ x 10’ square freestanding metallic gold mandap adorned with fresh floral arrangements, pampas grass, and decorative hanging baskets for the wedding ceremony.
Collaboration:
We collaborated closely with the couple through phone and in-person meetings. In our initial discussions, we covered their vision, guest count, budget, location, and overall concept. Multiple meetings and revisions ensured we captured their vision perfectly.
Challenges:
Creating multiple props from scratch, each with a different theme, was a significant challenge. Inspirational images from the client helped us understand their vision better. Timing and logistics were also crucial, as we had to set up and break down six events within three days. Adequate staffing and hiring skilled freelancers ensured everything ran smoothly.

The wedding featured many unique decor elements. The Mehndi had a custom-built wavy frame inspired by a seashell theme. The mandap was an iron-built metallic gold structure, and the reception had custom-built wooden panels of varying heights and widths. Each decor item was built specifically for this client, making everything unique and personalized.

Each event’s decor complemented the venue’s tall ceilings and large rooms. The grand structures adorned with fresh vibrant floral arrangements became the room’s centerpiece, enhancing the overall ambiance.
